Affiliate disclosure
Toolshed Report is free to read. Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you click one and later sign up for or buy that software, the vendor may pay us a commission. You don't pay anything extra.
Affiliate links on this site go through addresses that start with /go/ and are marked as sponsored links for search engines. The pages that contain them carry a disclosure at the top.
What commissions don't change
- The prices we report. They come from the vendor's own page, with the date we checked.
- Which tools we include. The price table lists 15 tools, and most of them pay us nothing.
- The facts on a page. If a cheaper or better-fitting tool exists for your situation, we'll say so, whether or not it pays us.
Equipment and store links
Our Start your business guides link to equipment at more than one store, each as its own button: specialist shops such as PowerWash.com, brand stores, Home Depot, Lowe's, Tractor Supply and Amazon. Amazon buttons are affiliate links: we're in the Amazon Associates program, so a qualifying purchase after a click can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Some of the other stores run affiliate programs too, and once we join them the same applies. Each button goes to one store through one program; we never route a click through two programs.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. We don't show Amazon prices, Amazon product photos or Amazon star ratings on this site. Equipment specs come from the manufacturer's or retailer's own page, dated, and we haven't tested the equipment ourselves.
Brands that sell only through local dealers (STIHL, for example) get a link to the maker's dealer locator and no affiliate link.
We follow the US Federal Trade Commission's guidance that endorsement and affiliate relationships be disclosed clearly. Our videos say the same thing out loud at the start and in the description.
